The World Welcomes The Much Needed Fixed Wing Air Ambulance

By Lila Bryant

Lack of good medical facilities around living places has led to an invention that has been long overdue. The fixed wing air ambulance is very helpful today. This ambulance is mainly an airplane with a team of trained medical officers. They travel all across the country providing transport services to people in need of urgent medical attention yet hospitals nearby do not have the capacity to offer the services they need.

The fixed wing ambulance is useful in various ways; it enables ground transportation, ensures specialized care reaches people who need it, and offers emergency transportation of the sick on private airplanes. Their companies in conjunction with others normally provide these special services. This is normally done after an agreement is entered into by partnering companies. As a team, the companies ensure that adequate planes and staff attend to clients.

They serve individual patients, companies that provide managed care, international embassies and even organizations that give health maintenance services among other health care providing companies. These services are always prompt and convenient to patients since planes are fast, and their sizes allow them to reach any part of the country.

The types of planes used by most of the air ambulance companies include Piaggio P 180. This is a plane that can carry a team of doctors, a patient and three accompanying passengers. It has a lavatory that is enclosed and has the capability of traveling up to a maximum of 1,500 miles at a mean speed of 450 miles in one hour.

Another type of plane commonly used is the Chieftain. This type of plane travels up to 900 miles, and has an average speed of 215 miles per hour. It has a carrying capacity of one patient, a medical team and a maximum of two passengers. Lear jets are also commonly used as air ambulances. They are capable of traveling for a maximum of 2,195 miles at a speed of 475 mph, and can carry one patient, the whole medical team and at most 2 passengers.

Another type of plane used is Gulfstream III that has a 3500 miles range. It carries doctors, six more passengers and one patient. It has an average speed of 500 miles a single hour. These planes are usually loaded with sufficient medical facilities for first aid, and their medical team is composed of well trained and qualified practitioners.

The emergency services provided always target patients with different types of needs. Patients may be in need of; critical care transport, basic life support or even advanced life support. These services may be mere emergency transport on private ambulance jets with special medical equipments or even international stretcher and medical escort services; where patients in dire need of medication are taken to hospital that provide the services they need.

Air ambulance providers are always available be it daytime or night. This makes their services reliable and easy to access in case of any need of medical attention and emergency air transport for patients under critical medical conditions . Almost all medical service providers have coordinators and multilingual flight attendants to allow easy communications with clients.
